Citizens Needed for Clean Community Committee
The Clean Community Committee of Gloucester County is seeking interested citizens from the Petsworth, Ware, and York Magisterial Districts to serve as members of the advisory group. Committee members plan and participate in cleanup, public education, and outreach activities. Currently the Committee is addressing litter prevention efforts through coordinated cleanups, advocating for improvements to Virginia’s litter law, promoting green initiatives, and working to increase awareness of how litter negatively affects the local environment.
The committee meets monthly to discuss matters relating to county beautification efforts, litter prevention and cleanup programs, recycling, and environmental education. The Committee meets the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM. (The Clean Community Committee does not meet in July or August and the December meetings are to be announced.) Meetings are held in the first floor conference room of County Building One, 6467 Main Street. There are times when meetings must be rescheduled due to conflicts. Please check here or on the County's calendar for updates or changes.
Citizens interested in serving should complete a Volunteer Board Bank information form available on the county's website or call 804-693-5370.
