As the leaves change color and the air turns crisp, Gloucester, Virginia, welcomes a time-honored tradition that not only ushers in the season of fall but also unites the community in a collective effort to beautify their beloved county.

It's Fall Clean Gloucester Day, an event that embodies the spirit of togetherness, civic pride, and environmental stewardship.

Fall Clean Gloucester Day is a day for residents, local businesses, and volunteers to come together to spruce up the county. The goal is simple: to ensure Gloucester is as beautiful as ever, with its streets, parks, and public spaces free from litter and debris.

For every Clean Gloucester Day, Clean Community volunteer, Deb Kerns-Anderson recruits members of the Ware Neck Sportsman Club to help keep Ware Neck looking great!

The newest environmentalist, member of WARE NECK SPORTSMAN CLUB is, 8 year old, Colton Bergstrom. This group picked up 21 bags of litter, along with 2 tires and 2 fence posts.

What sets this event apart is the sense of community it fosters. It's a day when neighbors meet neighbors, and new friendships are formed. The shared purpose of making Gloucester cleaner and more attractive unites people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life.Gloucester is known for its natural beauty, with scenic landscapes, parks, and waterfront areas. Fall Clean Gloucester Day ensures that these areas remain inviting and pristine. Volunteers clean up beaches, parks, hiking trails, and other recreational spots, contributing to the well-being of the environment.

The event is not just about cleaning up; it's also an educational opportunity. Participants learn about the importance of waste reduction, recycling, and proper disposal of litter. It instills a sense of responsibility for maintaining a clean and sustainable community.

Fall Clean Gloucester Day is a family-friendly event, with activities suitable for all ages. It's an excellent way to teach children about the importance of caring for their environment and community, instilling values that will last a lifetime. Clean community provides supplies & coordinates cleanup efforts. It's a true demonstration of the county's collective commitment to creating a better Gloucester.
