Recycling

Gloucester county residents and businesses are encouraged to recycle and every little bit that is recycled helps! In 2007, 30.3% of the county's waste was diverted from the landfill through business recycling efforts. State-wide, Virginian's recycled more than 3.6 million tons of material in 2007. Please join in these efforts by recycling at your home and/or business.

Items for recycling must be taken to and are accepted at each of the Convenience Centers in Gloucester County.  Please rinse all glass and plastic containers, and be sure that paper is dry and free of grease and debris.

Batteries can be dropped off at the Tidewater Soil & Water Conservation District office (6969 Fox Hunt Lane) or in the bin at the Gloucester Library on Main Street.
