Gloucester Public Schools has 6 elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school, Gloucester High with vocational/technical programs.  The Gloucester County School Board can give you more information on educational programs (click here for the school board office web site).

Private Schools graphic

Private schools with grade levels kindergarten and higher or other combinations of grades 1-12  include Christchurch, St. Margaret's, Gloucester Montessori , Majesty Christian Academy, and Ware Academy.

Colleges & Universities graphic

On the college level the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (Division of William & Mary) and Rappahannock Community College offer a full range of educational opportunities. Within an hour are Virginia Union, Norfolk State, Hampton, University of Richmond, Virginia Commonwealth (Medical College of Virginia), Christopher Newport and Old Dominion Universities, and Thomas Nelson Community College and Virginia Wesleyan College.
