Since its
beginning on September 1, 2004 , the Department of Emergency
Services primary mission is to protect life and property in the event
of a disaster or crisis situation, through a program of mitigation,
preparedness, response and recovery. Guided by these four principles,
Gloucester County will continue to work together and make great
strides in preparing for and managing of emergencies .
