Duties:
Under general supervision performs a wide variety of
complex administrative, technical and/or fiscal support services
based on the department’s needs. Work requires extensive knowledge
of department or division operations. Employee must exercise

Employee must also exercise considerable tact and courtesy.
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school supplemented by course
work in office administration, accounting or business
administration, and 3- 5 years of experience in administrative or
accounting work, including experience in office management; or any
equivalent combination of education and experience which provides
the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have
comprehensive knowledge of personal computers and commonly used
Microsoft Office software products to include Outlook, Word, Excel,
Access, and Power Point. Proficiency in additional specific software
applications to be determined by the employing department may be
required. Must attend & take
minutes for all board & commission meetings including evening
sessions.

Duties:
Performs a wide variety of
tasks in the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance and patrol of
Beaverdam Park. Work involves supervising the activities of all
staff, seasonal workers, volunteers, and community service
trustees. Work also involves assisting with scheduling and
assigning work activities. Employee is responsible for ensuring
compliance with park rules and regulations by park users, assisting
individuals and groups using parks, and maintaining park property,
equipment and buildings. Employee is also responsible for the safety
and security of parks and patrons. Employee must exercise initiative
and independent judgment in ensuring safety and security of parks.
Employee must also exercise tact and courtesy in frequent contact
with park patrons and the public.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in recreation, forestry or a related field, and a
minimum of 3 years of experience in park operations and maintenance
work, including one year supervisory experience; or any equivalent
combination of training and experience which provides the required
skills, knowledge and abilities. Prefer certifications or training
in turf management and/or landscaping.

Special Requirements
Employee must have and maintain CPR and first aid certification.
Employee must possess a valid driver's license issued by the
Commonwealth of Virginia. Employee is required to have a
pre-employment, post-offer physical examination. Employee may be
subject to subsequent physical examinations to ensure he/she meets
job-related physical requirements.

interpersonal skills. Gloucester County is a rural community of
35,000+ residents centrally located on the Eastern Seaboard with
easy access to the Chesapeake Bay, Virginia’s Historic Triangle, and
major cities. Our public utilities system, supported by a staff of
25, includes 4 MGD combination surface water and deep well reverse
osmosis plant, and a central sewage collection system. Position
plans, organizes, and directs the activities of supervisory,
technical, and clerical personnel engaged in operation of water
treatment plant, water supply system, sewage collection, and
customer service and billing systems. Work involves financial
activities, program development, strategic planning, DEQ consent
order compliance, staffing, and community relations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related
field, and 6 to 9 years of progressively responsible management
experience dealing with municipal water and wastewater operations,
maintenance and construction; or any equivalent combination of
training and experience which provides the required skills,
knowledge and abilities. Requires registration as a Virginia
Professional Engineer; possession of a Class I State Waterworks
Operators License; and possession of a valid driver's license issued
by the Commonwealth of Virginia. 
Residency Requirement:
Employee shall become a resident of Gloucester County within six (6)
months of completing their probationary period. Employee may, for
good cause shown, be relieved of this requirement by the County
Administrator with the written concurrence of the Chairman of the
Board of Supervisors after notice to all Board members.
