Duties:
Performs a wide variety of tasks in the day-to-day operation and
maintenance of the County park(s) to provide a safe environment for
visitors; performs related work as required. Employee must exercise
independent judgment, discretion and initiative in completing all
job assignments. Employee must be able to establish and maintain
cooperative, courteous, and positive communications with fellow
employees, other personnel, and the general public.
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, and 1 year of experience
in park operations/maintenance work preferred; or any equivalent
combination of training and experience which provides the required
skills, knowledge and abilities. Interpretive programming a plus.
Customer service and cash handling experience preferred.
Special Requirements:
Must have completed, or successfully complete within
sixty days of employment Red Cross-approved course in First Aid and
CPR. CPR and First Aid certification must be maintained while
employed by the County. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
occasionally. Employee is required to have a pre-employment,
post-offer physical examination. Employee may be subject to
subsequent physical examinations to ensure he/she meets job-related
physical requirements. Must possess and maintain a valid Virginia
driver’s license and an acceptable driver history record.
