The Virginia Room, housed in
the Gloucester Main Library, is a special collection of family histories,
genealogical and reference materials, surname files and vertical files
pertaining to Virginia history and more specifically to families of the
Gloucester and Tidewater areas. As well as research items, there is also a
large volume of books on Virginia gardens and travel, fiction titles authored by
Virginians, biographies and historical time periods and events, all available
for checkout. The library and its staff are dedicated to maintaining a
current and resourceful inventory of items relating to the great Commonwealth of
Virginia. We actively continue to search out new publications that will
enhance our collection for future generations. Library staff would like to
invite you to browse through the Virginia Room during your next library visit,
or feel free to stop by the Circulation Desk to inquire about the Library’s
holdings available through the card catalog. Together we can continue to
promote a positive look on Virginia’s history, people and events. |
