Whiffleball
Teeball For ages 8-10, 11-13, 14-18 (still in high school) as of 9/30/07. 13 year old J.V. or varsity school players will play in the older division. 13 year olds Peasley or Page players play in the 11-13 division. Equal play time league designed for fun & sportsmanship, no standings kept. All players must have shin guards, mouthpiece & stick. 411703-04 8-10 yrs, 411710-05 11-13 years, 411720-06 14-18 years, Mon-Thu & Sun, Mar 18-June 8, 5 & 6 pm weekdays & 1:30,2:30,3:30,4:30 & 5:30 pm Sun, $27, deadline Fri, Mar 14.
WHIFFLEBALL
For ages 4 & 5 as of September 30, 2008. Strictly for fun, a boys & girls league with no score or standings. Plastic balls, bats & tees are used. Coaches stay on the field to help. Everyone plays the whole game & bats each inning. Meet 8 times, no more than twice per week, for a 15-minute instruction period & a 3-inning game. 410810-05, Monday-Thursday, June 16-July 31, 6:30 pm, GHS, Ark, Abingdon & Page, $12, deadline Friday, May 2.
TEEBALL
For ages 6-7 as of September 30, 2008. A great learning experience for boys & girls, fundamentals are taught to prepare players for baseball & softball. Safety balls & tees are used. All players bat in each inning. COACH PITCH SOFTBALL
For ages 8-10 as of September 30, 2008. This league for boys & girls features slow pitch softball, pitched by the coach. Equal playtime for all players. Teams meet 1 or 2 times per week for practices & games. Gloves are required, a softball bat & rubber cleats recommended. 410620-07, 8-10 year olds, Monday-Friday, May 27-July 31, 5:30, 6 & 7 pm, Page, Peasley, Ark, Abingdon, Bethel & GHS, $27, deadline Friday, May 2.
KIDS PITCH-SLOW-PITCH SOFTBALL
For ages 11-14, & 15-16 as of September 30, 2008. These leagues for boys & girls feature slow pitch softball, a great lifetime sport. Equal playtime for all players. Teams meet 1 or 2 times per week for practices & games. Gloves are required, a softball bat & rubber cleats recommended. 410630-08, 11-14 year olds, 410640-09, 15-16 year olds, Monday-Friday, May 27-July 31, 5:30, 6 & 7 pm, Page, Peasley, Ark, Abingdon, Bethel & GHS, $27, deadline Friday, May 2. Volunteer coaches & referees are needed for all basketball, softball, field hockey & soccer leagues. Training is provided. The pay is not good, but the rewards are GREAT! For information on volunteering call Billy Moore, 693-1262. For ages 5-18 (call PR&T for exceptions & we do have quite a few). A soccer program for kids with special needs. The program is mostly non-competitive & geared towards each individual child experiencing fun & success. An excellent group of volunteers led by a nationally recognized head coach work with the kids giving them the attention they need. 410305-06, March 14-May 23, Fridays, 6-7:30 pm, $12, deadline Friday March 7.
