the Best Years Club

photo of best years club members on a day tripPR&T sponsors The BEST YEARS CLUB to help local Senior Citizens be active and make new friends. Members meet for monthly lunches, at local restaurants and for day trips to places like; Historic Sites, Day Cruises, Musicals, Plays, etc.

Anyone 55 or older can become a member by calling Katey Legg at 693-1270 or you can stop by PR&T. All we need is your name, address, phone number and birthday (just month and day, for our birthday calendar). You will be put on the mailing list for "the Senior Scoop" and you can begin making new friends and taking trips.

How do I find out about the activities? A quarterly newsletter called "the Senior Scoop" is mailed to all members. It lists the monthly lunches, day trips, birthday calendar and other items of interest. Flyers from activities held in other locations are also included in the newsletter.

What fees are involved with membership in the Best Years Club? There is no fee to join the club. There are trip and lunch fees. Trip Fees: each trip has a fee for transportation, tickets or equipment. Meals may be on your own or may be included in the trip fee (like visits to the dinner theater). The trip fees are listed in "the Senior Scoop."  Lunch Fees: monthly lunches are on your own.  We will make reservations at the restaurant and meet you there.

Where do I sign up for the activities? The PR&T Office is located in Courthouse Office Building on the corner of Justice Drive and Main Street.  6467 Main Street

Who is in charge of the Best Years Club? Our Recreation Supervisor, Katey Legg, is in charge of organizing the lunches and trips. She also creates, copies and mails "the Senior Scoop."  Katey is always looking for new ideas for trips and activities.  So give her a call at 804-693-1270 or email her!
