Scholarships - deadline Friday, February 27, 2009

Tess Zagula Memorial Scholarship - We all miss Tess; she was the type person who taught you to see the good things in life and to enjoy the day.

Jim Guckeyson Memorial Scholarship - We have not quite gotten over the loss of Jim.  He was a quiet man that lead by example and would lift our spirits with his special sense of humor!

Daffodil Festival Scholarship

  • Purpose: To assist three Gloucester county graduating seniors that have been accepted to college, community college or trade school.

  • Scholarship Amount: 3 scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1000 each.

 2009 Qualifications of Applicants:

  • Application for this scholarship is open to all seniors that are Gloucester County residents, regardless of race, sex, color, creed or religion.

  • All applications must be Received by Friday, February 27, 2009 (post mark will not qualify).

  • Application forms are available in the GHS Guidance Office, Gloucester Parks, Recreation & Tourism Office and on this webpage.

  • Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of:
         a.  Contents of Essay
         b.  Academic Achievement
         c.  Community Involvement
         d. School Activities/employment

  • All applicants must write a five-hundred-word (approximately) essay on their short and long term goals and how the scholarship will help them achieve those goals.

  • Awards will be announced during the Opening Ceremony of the Daffodil Festival.  Recipients will be notified before the festival.

  • One letter of reference from a non-family member

  • Official High School Transcript

  • Printable 2009 Application Form (will b e posted when approved)

Scholarship Awards:

  • Recipients will be notified prior to the Festival.

  • A check will be sent to the college or trade school between June 1st and October 1st. Recipient must supply proof of enrollment from the college or trade school, address and check information before a check can be issued.

  • All checks shall be made payable to the college or trade school.
