Month-Long Happenings: 

  • Gloucester Main Street Merchants along with County's Museum of History & Public Libraries will feature displays & banners saluting our military "past & present." 
     

  • Message to Troops" through www.americasupportsyou.mil The Main Street Library has computers set up for this homepage to encourage patron to take a moment & send a message of support to tour troops.
     

  • The Gloucester Visitor Center continues to sponsor “A Million Thanks," a writing campaign to send messages of appreciation to military men & women on active duty in the Middle East.  STOP by the Center & fill out a card!
     

  • Tuesdays are Military Appreciation Day at Beaverdam Park.  Free one hour rental of Paddle Boat or Canoe with Military ID.
     

  • Gloucester Museum of History will feature a special military exhibit May 1 thru June 30 featuring pictures, relics, uniforms & other memorabilia from the Civil War, World War I & II, & Vietnam War. Information & pictures of World War II are from scrapbooks kept by Gloucester citizens in the 1940’s. Operating Hours Mon – Fri 10 – 3 pm, Sat 11 – 4 pm & closed Sunday & Holidays.
