Beaverdam Park offers The ONLY public freshwater fishing on the Middle Peninsula.

Bait:     Minnows & Night Crawlers are on sale at the Ranger Station, fee, Main Entrance Only.

Regular Price Schedule:  Annual Passes, Boat, $60/year or Canoe, $30/year.  Daily Launch, Boat, $6 or Canoe $3.

Canoeing:  Canoe rentals are available at the Ranger Station.  Fees are $4 per hour or $10 per day.  Main Entrance.

Bass, Catfish, and Crappie are just a few of the species found in the reservoir. Freshwater fishing licenses are required and available at the Ranger Station.  Main Entrance. Come out and try your luck!

Big Bash Open Bass Tournaments:  Each year a series of five open tournaments are held throughout the summer for fisherman to accumulate points towards a final closed Big Bash Classic Tournament in October. The top 25% of teams will compete in the final closed tournament to determine Beaverdam Park's top fisherman of the season. The entry fee per tournament is $30 per boat for annual passholders & $35 per boat for non-passholders. Tournaments will be held on the third Saturday during the months of March, April, May, June & September.  For further information on the Big Bash Open Bass Tournaments contact Chuck Hyde at Beaverdam Park, 693-2107.

A REEL CRAPPIE FISHING TOURNAMENT - April 12, 2008

Jon Boats: Jon Boats are available for rent at the Ranger Station.  Fees are $4 per hour or $10 per day.  Jon Boats with motor and battery are $10 per hour or $20 per day.  Life jackets and paddles are provided with all rentals.  Main Entrance.

Moonlight Fishing Rules & Prices:  Calling all Fishermen! Come to Beaverdam Park to take advantage of the cool night temperatures & calm waters. Moonlight fishing will be held on Fridays: May 4, June 1, July 6, August 3 & September 7 from 6 pm until midnight. Note: You DO need navigation lights on your boat at Beaverdam, red & green running lights & an all around white light. Please enter the park at the main entrance only, located at the end of Roaring Springs Road (Rt. 616). The Fary's Mill Road (Rt. 606) entrance is not accessible for moonlight fishing. The fees are as follows:

Annual Passholders $ 5 (per boat)
Launch for non-passholders $10 (per boat)
Boat rental (fee included) $15 (per boat)
Boat, motor & battery (fee included) $25 (per boat)
Bank fishing & Pier (under 18 free) $ 5 (per person)

Virginia Fishing Licenses for sale year round: All Virginia fishing or hunting licenses may be purchased at the Ranger Station. Available year round. Fees vary. Main Entrance only.

Saltwater Fishing

Gloucester Point Beach Park - each year a Saltwater Fishing License is purchased for the Gloucester Point Beach Park Pier.  Everyone fishing from the pier is covered by the license, so grab you fishing pole, tackle box and chair, because the fish are running!!!

Public fishing from the Gloucester Point Beach Pier does not require a license, thanks to N-Out Convenience Store and Gloucester Tourism.
