Where can I get an application?       This is probably the first question you ask yourself.    The answer is that our department is not taking any applications and won't be for quite awhile.  You can go to the links page on this website.  It will take you to the VHDA website.  Here you can check to see which other offices may be taking applications.

How do I qualify for Section 8 assistance?      Anyone can qualify as long as they meet the low-income levels and can verify their income/assets and household information.

How does this program benefit me?       You may not have to pay all of your rent!!  You can afford to provide your family with more of things they need.

How much of my income will I pay towards rent?     Assistance is based upon your household income and assets.  Families will pay more or less than 30% of your adjusted income depending on the cost of the unit you choose.  Housing agencies will calculate your exact expenses once a unit is selected.
