Refugee Resettlement Program

The Refugee Act of 1980 significantly amended prior federal legislation by authorizing the provision of cash and medical assistance and social services to refugees in the United States without regard to their country of origin. With some exceptions, eligibility for cash and medical assistance is determined by following TANF and Medicaid policy as appropriate for a designated time period.
