Adoption Services
Registries of children available for adoption and families approved to take them are
maintained while efforts are made to bring children and families together. Provision of
adoptive services to Gloucester families desiring to adopt foster children available for
adoption. Provision of court ordered non-foster care adoption services
Adult Services
Services are provided to keep adults in their homes and to assist with out-of-home
placement when that is appropriate.
Adult Protective Services
Services/Investigations are offered for the protection of the aged and incapacitated
from neglect, abuse, or exploitation when the adult cannot unaided, take care of himself
or his affairs.
Adult Companion Provider
Certification
Individuals who wish to provide home-based
care (companion) services to the elderly or to adults with disabilities can apply to
become agency certified vendors.
Child Protective Services
Identifies, assesses, and provides services in the effort to protect children, preserve
families, and whenever possible, prevent further maltreatment of the child.
Emergency Services
Budget counseling and coordination of community resources to prevent eviction,
utility cutoff, or to obtain emergency food, shelter, clothing or to purchase medications.
Foster Care Services for Children
Temporary care is arranged for Gloucester children who cannot be in their own homes,
generally as a result of parental abuse or neglect. If you need more

Foster Care Provider Certification
We are looking for committed and caring individuals to become part of the foster care
team in providing a stable home environment to children coming from troubled situations.
Especially needed are those who are willing to care for sibling groups and teenagers.

Custody Investigations
Court ordered investigations in contested child custody cases are provided to courts in
determining parental capacity to meet the physical, emotional and other needs of children.
