Payment Options

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover for all payments received by the Treasurer's Office.  There is a fee to pay by credit card. The same credit card fee applies for in office payments.

Payments made by E-Check (electronic check) will be posted once the payment has settled with the County's bank.  This can take up to 5-6 business days.  Once the payment has settled, it will be processed as of the date you initiated the payment.  E-CHECK PAYMENTS ARE SUBJECT TO ACCEPTANCE BY YOUR FINANCIAL INSTITUTION.  YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THAT YOUR PAYMENT IS REFLECTED ON YOUR BANK ACCOUNT.

Please Note: The Treasurer's Office does not accept checks for past due personal property tax payments once we have reported an account to the Department of Motor Vehicles' (DMV) vehicle registration withholding program. If this applies, please pay your past due balance by cash, money order, certified check, or credit card.

Online Payments

All major credit cards are accepted online.  A 2.5% fee applies (same fees apply in-office).  Payments by E-Check are free of charge. Online/credit card payments are not available for Civil Process through the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office.

PLEASE NOTE - In order to process your animal license, we MUST have your application and any associated information within 24 hours of receiving your payment.  If we do not receive your application within that timeframe, your payment will be refunded.

Telephone Payments

Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and E-Check payments can be made by telephone at 800-272-9829. Please use jurisdiction code 1087. These services are offered through a third-party processor and the fees are higher than in-office or online payments.  PLEASE NOTE: Telephone payments are not accepted for permits or Civil Process through Gloucester County Sheriff's Office.  Permits may be paid online or in the office only.

Drop Box Payments

You may put your check or money order and payment stub in our drop box. The drop box is available 24/7 and is located in the median of Justice Drive between Gloucester County Offices Building One and Gloucester County Offices Building Two. Please make payments for Utility bills to "Gloucester County Utilities." For all others, please make your payment to "Gloucester County." Please do not put cash in the drop box.

Mailing must include two (2) copies of all correspondence for each individual to be served and a certified or personal check in the amount of $75.00 per service/person. Online or credit card payment is not available. For additional information contact the Civil Process Division at 804-693-1344.


Automatic Bank Debit Program

Automatic Bank Debit for Utility Payments can be setup to automatically withdraw from your checking or savings account. Access the Automatic Bank Debit sign-up form (PDF).
