Gloucester Launches the “BEE Alert” Notification System

Gloucester County Emergency Management has launched a new emergency notification service for citizens called “BEE Alert.” All citizens must manually register to receive emergency notifications even if they are already registered with the former system, CodeRED. Data from CodeRED was not automatically transferred over to the new system, which uses Everbridge technology. While registration for BEE Alert will be ongoing, citizens are asked to register as soon as possible to avoid missing any emergency notifications. Please note: For emergencies, dial 911.

The Department of Emergency Management protects communities by coordinating and integrating all activities necessary to build, sustain, and improve the capability to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to, and recover from threatened or actual natural disasters, acts of terrorism, or other man-made disasters.

With the colder weather approaching, please make sure you have an emergency kit ready! Be prepared for winter weather at home, at work, and in your car. 


Create an emergency supply kit for your vehicle. Include jumper cables, sand, a flashlight, warm clothing, blankets, bottled water, and non-perishable snacks. Make sure to keep a full tank of gas. 

Gather supplies in case you need to stay home for several days without power. Keep in mind each person's specific needs, including medication. Remember the needs of your pets. Have extra batteries for radios and flashlights, and have a portable phone charger if possible!
