Gloucester County is very fortunate to have over 150 community members who volunteer to serve on various committees, councils, boards and commissions. These board appointed groups provide valuable advice, expertise, and direction to county officials on a wide variety of issues, policies, programs and services.

Bay Aging Board of Directors
The Bay Aging Board of Directors advises the agency on establishment and implementation of area planning, resource development, and coordination of programs for the aging in the Middle Peninsula - Northern Neck service area.

Telecommunications Committee
The Telecommunications Committee will serve in an advisory capacity to county administration. The committee will work with staff to review and advise on issues related to cable services, telecommunications, broadband (wireline and wireless), local telecommunication infrastructure (towers, mini cells, etc.) and help promote local government and school public programming on the public access channels

Tourism Committee
The Tourism Committee shall act as an advocate for the local tourism industry, and provide advice to staff and the Board of Supervisors.

Transportation Planning Advisory Committee
The Transportation Planning Advisory Committee is an advisory group to the County Administrator, Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission. The committee reviews technical information, assists in obtaining input of citizens and stakeholders, recommends goals and objectives for the transportation element of the Comprehensive Plan and advises the County Administrator, Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission on needed transportation projects to be included in the transportation element of the Comprehensive Plan.
