Gloucester Wine Festival ReWINE!

What a great way to relax and reWINE!

Visit Gloucester had the privilege to attend the 2023 Gloucester Wine Festival presented by the Gloucester Chamber of Commerce. This event was originally a two-day event but due to tropical cyclone Ophelia the board had to make the difficult decision to cancel Saturday’s festivities. To say we were heartbroken is an understatement, but Sunday’s event was fantastic! Whether you're a seasoned wine connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of wine, this festival promised an unforgettable experience.

“Being able to witness the planning for this event was fascinating. I enjoyed watching the festival team tackle every hurdle with a smile and present a one-of-a-kind event for the community. I was honored to be representing Visit Gloucester VA and Gloucester Parks & Recreation at this event.” – Susan Ammons, Tourism Coordinator

The Gloucester Wine Festival has and will continue to be a community and visitor favorite. The festival is held within the gardens at the award-winning Brent & Becky’s. This venue makes for a relaxing and serene atmosphere. This was the perfect designated area for wine enthusiasts to connect, share stories, and network with fellow wine lovers. This was a chance to make lasting connections in the world of wine.

Featured Wineries Included:

Zoll Vineyards · Cobbler Mountain · Rebec · Mattaponi · Saude Creek Vineyards · Jolene Family Winery · General Ridge Vineyard · Vintner’s Cellar Winery · Notaviva Farm Brewery & Winery · Castle Gen

Not only was there wine but there were also many artisan vendors. Attendees were able to visit different booths that showcased wine-related products, handcrafted items, local businesses, and many one-of-a-kind treasures. Visitors were also able to sit in on two free wine classes. Wine experts taught about the wine regions, tasting techniques, food pairings, and more.

What is a festival without food trucks! While wine may be the star of the show at the Gloucester Wine Festival, we couldn't resist sampling the delicious offerings from the food truck scene. The combination of gourmet cuisine and the picturesque wine festival setting made for an exquisite culinary experience.

The festival would not be complete without Good Shot Judy! Visitors sipped and swayed to the rhythm of the day as they were transported to a different era. The band was located in the garden and provided a large dance floor for those that felt the music in their bones.  From the first note to the last, Good Shot Judy showcased their unparalleled musical prowess. The band members, each a virtuoso in their own right, demonstrated not only their technical excellence but also a deep understanding of jazz as an art form. Whether it was sharing anecdotes between songs or encouraging the crowd to snap their fingers in rhythm, they made everyone feel like they were part of the performance. If you have the opportunity to witness Good Shot Judy live, don't miss it. Their music is not just a performance; it's an experience that lingers in your heart long after the final note has played.

If you were able to attend this year’s festival and relished the opportunity to explore the rich tapestry of wines, savor gourmet delights, and immerse yourselves in the magic of live music you can agree that this festival is a testament to our shared love for the finer things in life!
